Tools For Remote Teaching and Learning

The Art Room should be a tool of learning in itself and not just a place to store materials or where students come to listen to the teacher and to try and make art for an hour. The Art Room can be a fluid learning environment that extends beyond its walls with the help of mobile technology. Lessons don’t have to be isolated sections of learning, but integrated and connected, used to create a history of art timeline that students can learn from, from first year to sixth year. Also, students are savvy content creators with all manner of devices and apps used generally for social interactions, they’re equipped with the skills to create and manage their own learning. I propose using a mixture of the art room and social media platforms to create an integrated learning environment that would extend beyond the allotted time in a school timetable and motivate students through independent learning and content creation.
